Board 2025
Stichting Buitenlandse Excursies (SBE)
Hello everyone,
We are the SBE (Stichting Buitenlandse Excursies), and we strive to organize the best possible study trip in the summer 2025. We will be visiting universities, and chemical companies but of course also explore the nature and cultural highlights of the country we are visiting. Now, we are planning the trip, organizing activities and getting case studies.
If you have any good ideas or suggestions feel free to contact us at sbe@chemische-binding.nl.
See you at the trip!
Best,
SBE

Wouter Zondag
Hey, my name is Wouter Zondag and I am the chair of this year’s SBE board. As the chair, I will be making sure that everything is going according to schedule. I will also be preparing meetings and get in touch with external parties. I am 20 years old and currently a 3rd year bachelor chemistry student. I grew up in Biddinghuizen, a small town in Flevoland. I am also active in the study association, De Chemische Binding, where I was part of the FYC, ICE, aXie, TripCie and BorrelCie. Next to my studies, I like to relax by reading or watching movies. Besides that I love cooking and when I am home playing games with my family.
Alexander Lenze
Hello there!
After already being in the board of De CB 22-23, I thought it is time to join yet another board, the SBE. As I like the position so much, I will again be the Secretary. This means, I will take care of the mail, minutes and the organization of the trip itself, while also being involved in getting case studies. My primary motivation for joining the SBE is because I love to travel and I love organizing travels, making the SBE a perfect fit. Since I live in the very eastern part of Germany, everytime I come here, it already feels like quite a journey. Of course, I am also excited to discover different cultures and learn about the chemical industry and research in a different country. Next year, besides my research which I will do in the Walvoort group and my work for the SBE, you can find me bouldering or going to the cinema.
Simone Keulen
Hello!
I’m Simone. I am one of the treasurers of the SBE this year, which means it is my job to make sure we don’t overspend while planning the best trip money can buy. I am excited to be a part of the SBE this year because I love traveling, seeing the world and getting to know other cultures. I am also very excited to learn more about the chemical industry both locally, through the case studies, and at our destination. Next year I will finish my bachelor's in Chemistry, as well as my second year in Chemical Engineering. I also fill my time playing D&D every other week and other games every week.
Wiktoria Opielak
Hello everyone!
I’m Wiktoria and I am one of the Secretaries in the new SBE board. My job is to make sure none of the documents get lost and all emails are sent in time. I love travelling, and I find planning trips very calming, thus I am very excited for all the work waiting for me. I'm really happy to have a task that combines the fun of travelling and exploring new cultures with the benefits of visiting companies and universities abroad. Alongside my Chemistry degree and Honours College Programme, which hopefully will all be completed by the time the trip starts, I like reading crime stories, training for triathlon and baking in my free moments.
Ioana-Raluca Sardaru
Hello future travellers!
I’m Raluca and I am the other treasurer of the SBE board. I will be keeping track of the money flow for the trip in a neat way and doing some taxes. Moreover, with the input from the rest of our amazing board, we will make the itinerary for the trip so that you can have the best time and most fun without the worry of planning, seeking accommodation and getting yourself around. My motivation for joining the SBE is getting nostalgic about being a board member after doing a board year for De CB and being curious of what is like visiting universities and chemistry related companies in a different country. This academic year is going to be very exciting because I am also starting my masters degree, doing a board year for the poledance association, joining a salsa course, hopefully improve my Dutch skills and occasionally playing tennis.
